11 July 9.30 - 12.30
For thousands of years, across continents and generations, images and symbols of the Goddess were created and revered as an embodied expression of humanity's relationship with the Earth, creativity, and the Divine Feminine.
Over time, many of these symbols and artefacts were destroyed, distorted, or absorbed into the political and religious systems that continue to shape our world today.
What happens to our humanity when we erase the Goddess?
What happens to our relationship with the Earth when She is no longer honoured as life-giving?
As alive?
In this workshop, we return to one of women's oldest creative practices: working with clay.
Clay has long been a medium for giving form to the unseen, shaping our understanding of life's cycles, invoking protection, and carrying stories, rituals, and symbols from one generation to the next.
Together, we will explore the many faces of the feminine before creating a symbolic Goddess figure inspired by the stories shared throughout our time together.
Through touch, listening, and intuitive making, your sculpture may emerge as a Goddess, a healer, a protector, an ancestor - or simply as a reflection of something within you waiting to be remembered.
No clay experience is needed—only an open heart and curious hands.
After the workshop, your Goddess will be carefully dried, fired, and finished, ready for collection from Nammu approximately four weeks later.
Join us for a rich morning of storytelling, creativity, and embodied exploration.
Annette, lecturer in Modern Matriarchy and women's facilitator, will guide us through the myths, symbols, and stories of Goddess cultures from around the world. Alongside her, Jade, founder of Nammu & Clay Atelier, will lead a hands-on clay workshop where you'll create your own symbolic Goddess figure.
Wild Nettle will nourish us with seasonal herbal infusions, while a surprise Goddess-inspired performance will awaken our imaginations and offer us inspiration as we shape our clay into form.
Together, we gather in story, sisterhood, and the sacred ritual of creation, opening to the many expressions of feminine wisdom, creativity, and power.
